From Balls Up to Bianco - the Journey Begins

Fab Flash was done by Dave Paint I mean Panit!
Remember the trucks? Not easily forgotten!

The reason for the choice of colour lost in the mists of time!

The colour for the archive blog is pink in honour of those trucks!

Here we are the calm before the storm, the trickle before the flood, or in this weather the snowball before the avalanche!

Before us the task of tucking up into neat, tidy packages the
exciting and unplanned past.
Wow, nearly three decades of it!

So ideas first. How do you get your head around it? Well, in one sense it's easy, you can't. The past itself is gone. Pwf! As ethereal as dust in a shaft of sunlight.

What we've got to collect is what the dust settled on. This is where we are now, looking back and sifting through the dust.

12th January 10am          1st Meeting of Team

Clockwise from back Tony Philpott Project Archivist, Ali Williams (seated) Project Manager, Liz Lavender Assistant Project Manager and Kay volunteer.

There is no room now on those shelves!

We have hoisted our flag and set sail on the seas of discovery.   Avast!   We are coming for your memories and your artefacts!

12th January 11am       Tutorial with Jodi

NoFit State's Marketing and Communication's Officer

Learning Live Drive and Mail Chimp.

Very, very useful.

12th January  2pm           The Cardiff Story Museum

Went to see the room where the exhibition is possibly going to be and it is huge, big enough for a flying trapeze! It is a great space, we just need to collect the physical objects to fill it, and they're going to have to be bigger than a few juggling balls!

magnificent building

15th January 10.30am      The Glamorgan Archives

This is where the paper archive created by the project will be stored. We had a really constructive meeting with Susan Edwards and Rhian Phillips who were great and enthusiastic about the project.

Tucked behind the Bluebird Stadium the Glamorgan archives are a hidden treasure

We met one of the conservators who was restoring a document from the 1790's.

It's bonkers to think that in 200 years time, say in 2214, that could be a programme from Bianco being restored!

15th January 3.30pm Voluntary Community Service

With manager Jeremy Rees, discussing recruitment of volunteers, induction, support, feedback, agreements and many more essential topics. It's an amazing resource and great help to be able to tap into the experience, wisdom, and practical knowledge of the VCS.

20th January  STAR Communities First Meeting

Joe Redmond told us about the Time Credit Scheme and the upcoming newsletter and we decided to activate both of those.
Great as a one-stop shop to reach both potential volunteers and lots of people with memories of NoFit State's earlier years, and not just from the Great Eastern and the Moira!
